How Tour de Growth works
Fifteen questions, three minutes, one honest AARRR score. Here's what we measure, why, and the limit to keep in mind before you take the number too seriously.
Acquisition
How people find you in the first place — through ads, content, word of mouth, or anything else that brings a stranger to your door.
Do you have a primary acquisition channel that's identified and measured?
Activation
The gap between signing up and getting it — the moment your product clicks for someone new.
Have you defined a specific "aha" moment for new users?
Retention
Whether people stick around, or quietly disappear after the first try.
Do you track a retention rate (D7/D30 or similar)?
Referral
Whether your happiest users are bringing you new ones — or just being happy quietly.
Does your product have a sharing or referral mechanism?
Revenue
Whether the way you make money has actually been tested — or just chosen and hoped for.
Has your pricing model been tested, not just chosen?
How the score is calculated
Fifteen questions, three per stage. Each answer is worth a fixed number of points — nothing subjective, nothing an AI decides on the fly. Your five stage scores (out of 20 each) add up to your total (out of 100). The wording of your results comes from a set of pre-written verdicts matched to your score — the same wording for everyone with the same score.
The two tones
Straight up
Clear, constructive feedback with no sugar-coating — but no unnecessary harshness either.
Roast me 🔥
Same substance, sharper delivery. The wit always targets your strategy, never you — that's a hard rule, not a suggestion.
